What is the Cover Match Guarantee?

The Cover Match Guarantee is our commitment to ensuring that you receive great value for your money when you choose Hometree for your boiler and home emergency breakdown cover needs. We believe our products are comprehensive and competitive, but if you find another boiler and home cover provider that offers coverage for something we don’t, we’ll reward you with a £50 gift card voucher.

How does the Cover Match Guarantee work?

To claim a £50 voucher under the Cover Match Guarantee, you’ll need to be a Hometree customer with a Hometree Cover Plan. To qualify you’ll need to find an alternative insurance product that covers something we don’t, and it meets the following criteria:

  • The alternative product is for like-for-like insurance coverage.
  • The alternative product is available on the competitor website at the date of claim.
  • You’ll need to contact us and provide sufficient information, such as a copy of the alternative provider’s Terms and Conditions.
  • The product is available in mainland UK (excluding Northern Ireland).

If you find such a product, we’ll send  you a £50 gift card voucher.

 

Please note that all Cover Match Guarantee decisions are at the discretion of Hometree.

What are the terms and conditions of the Cover Match Guarantee?

Here are some important terms and conditions to keep in mind:

  • The Cover Match Guarantee is available exclusively to Hometree customers with a Hometree Cover Plan.
  • It applies only to like-for-like insurance products.
  • The alternative product is available on the competitor website at the date of claim.
  • You must provide us with enough information to verify the terms, such as the alternative provider’s Terms and Conditions.
  • Business trade customers are not eligible for the Cover Match Guarantee.
  • Hometree reserves the right to withdraw, cancel, suspend, or amend the Cover Match Guarantee at any time without notice.
  • These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

If you’re looking to switch from British Gas or HomeServe, the Hometree Fair Price Promise was designed for your exact situation. If we aren’t already cheaper than your renewal price, share your renewal quote with us and we promise to match the price.

What are the exemptions for the Price Match Promise?

When switching from a boiler or home cover provider and looking to benefit from the Price Match Promise, you’ll need to meet certain conditions – but we’re happy to spell them out for you here. You’ll see they’re all pretty fair.

  • The renewal price you found from another provider must be for similar insurance products.
  • The price you found should be the monthly price, including VAT and any additional charges. It must be the normal monthly price, not the result of a membership or personal discount, promotional discount and not a rebate.
  • The alternative product must currently be available.
  • Price matching is limited to a 20% reduction on our plan prices.
  • The Price Match Promise only applies to products available in mainland UK (excluding Northern Ireland).
  • You must contact us and provide sufficient information to verify the price, such as a copy of your renewal letter or email quote that is clearly named and dated.
  • A Price Match Promise cannot be combined with any other discount or promotional items, such as cashback sites.
  • Pricing errors on the British Gas or HomeServe site that are clearly pricing errors will not be matched.
  • Business trade customers are not eligible for the Price Match Promise.
  • Hometree reserves the right to withdraw, cancel, suspend, or amend the Price Match Promise at any time without notice.
  • The Price Match Promise will not be applied retrospectively to orders already placed.
